ABS-CBN Refutes GMA-7's Claim of Primetime Leadership

ABS-CBN’s hit superhero primetime series “Juan dela Cruz” starring Teleserye King Coco Martin continues to lead in the latest nationwide TV ratings, making it as the most-watched TV program in the country.
Based on the latest data last Wednesday (July 17) from Kantar Media that uses a nationwide panel size of 2,609 urban and rural homes that represent 100% of the total Philippine TV viewing population, “Juan dela Cruz” continues to rule primetime TV with an impressive national TV ratings of 35.9%, or 14 points higher than its rival program “Anna Karenina,” which GMA claims to be ‘dominating its time slot.’
Meanwhile, ABS-CBN’s newest teleserye “Muling Buksan Ang Puso” enjoyed high viewership as the second most-watched TV program with a 29.6% national TV ratings contrary to claims that GMA’s “Mundo Mo’y Akin” is the ‘most-watched drama series on primetime.’ Based on data from Kantar Media, “Mundo Mo’y Akin” lagged behind “Muling Buksan Ang Puso” by as much as 8 points.
Likewise, the fast-paced Kapamilya drama “Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala” topbilled Pinoy Soap Opera Queen Judy Ann Santos, has kept its loyal viewers on the edge of their seats as it still ruled its timeslot with 21.9% national TV ratings. Its rival “My Husband’s Lover” continues to lose steam and rated only 16.5% despite claims that it has more viewers.
Apart from its winning drama series, ABS-CBN’s flagship TV newscast “TV Patrol” remains to be the most-watched news program in the country. “TV Patrol” became the third most-watched TV program with a national TV rating of 28.8% or 10 points higher than “24 Oras” (18.7%).
Family drama series “Annaliza,” topbilled by fast-rising Kapamilya child star Andrea Brillantes, and hit Koreanovela “That Winter The Wind Blows” continue to charm more TV viewers as proven by the recent national TV ratings. “Annaliza” ruled its timeslot with 18.5%, beating its rival show “Home Sweet Home” that only scored 11.2%. While, the Kapamilya Koreanovela won with 9.9%, trouncing GMA’s “Padam Padam The Music of Their Hearts,” which only got 7.2%.
Don’t miss “Annaliza,” “TV Patrol,” “Juan dela Cruz,” “Muling Buksan Ang Puso,” “Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala” and “That Winter The Wind Blows,” weeknights, on ABS-CBN Primetime Bida.

Angel Locsin's Acting Award is Far Better than FHM Sexiest Title

Angel Locsin's Acting Award is Far Better than FHM Sexiest Title
Both Dingdong Dantes and Phil Younghusband are equally proud of their girlfriends Marian Rivera and Angel Locsin, who are considered this generations Vilma Santos and Nora Aunor as far as their celebrity status are concern.

But while Dingdong lauds Marian for being this year's sexiest woman of FHM Philippines, Phil believes that Angel's acting awards are way better than her FHM sexiest ranking.

In his interview with ABS-CBN News that was aired on Wednesday, July 10, Phil said he wouldn't mind if his girlfriend only ranked third in the said fan-based poll of the popular men's magazine.
"Well, for me, Angel's winning the acting awards, which I think for her, is something. For me, I think excelling and success in your own craft, in your own profession is one of the best things to be proud of.” Phil said.
"For me, she's No. 1, no matter what happens. I think the acting awards are the best thing for her." the Azkals member added.

Manila, second city to be attacked by alien-like sea monsters in “Pacific Rim”

Manila once again gets special mention, this time in the main trailer of Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures' “Pacific Rim.”

As narrated in the trailer, Manila is the second city to be attacked by alien-like sea monsters originating in the Pacific Ocean. Scenes pertaining to the Manila attack are also featured, which are expected to create a sensation when the film opens locally in July.

In “Pacific Rim,” when legions of monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, started rising from the sea, a war began that would take millions of lives and consume humanity’s resources for years on end. To combat the giant Kaiju, a special type of weapon was devised: massive robots, called Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge.

But even the Jaegers are proving nearly defenseless in the face of the relentless Kaiju. On the verge of defeat, the forces defending mankind have no choice but to turn to two unlikely heroes—a washed up former pilot (Charlie Hunnam) and an untested trainee (Rinko Kikuchi)—who are teamed to drive a legendary but seemingly obsolete Jaeger from the past. Together, they stand as mankind’s last hope against the mounting apocalypse.

The film stars Charlie Hunnam (TV’s “Sons of Anarchy”), Idris Elba (“Thor”), Rinko Kikuchi (“The Brothers Bloom”), Charlie Day (“Horrible Bosses”), and Ron Perlman (the “Hellboy” films).

Opening across the Philippines in July 11 in 3D, 2D and regular theaters, “Pacific Rim” will be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.

Raymond Gutierrez, leaving GMA Network?

Just like his twin brother Richard, Raymond Gutierrez is now free as a bird in the sky!

Raymond Gutierrez's contract with GMA Network expired earlier this year. Raymond has no existing projects on the Kapuso Network since his regular projects bid goodbye on TV - "HOT TV" and "Party Pilipinas."

Here's his intriguing tweet yesterday, “Received good news. Anticipating this new project and new environment.”

Raymond is a good TV host. He'll surely have a definite place on ABS-CBN or TV5 if the rumors are true that he already decided to leave GMA Network.
