ABS-CBN's
defunct drama series "Precious Hearts Romances presents: Impostor" was
nominated in the 2011 International Emmy Awards.
The show, headlined by Maja Salvador, Sam Milby, Melai Cantiveros and Jason Francisco, tells the story of a provincial lass who was forced to take the persona of a well-known model.
"Impostor" was directed by Jerome Pobocan and Neal del Rosario. Its story was inspired by a novel written by Martha Cecilia.
According to the website of the International Emmy Awards, "Impostor" will be competing in the Best Telenovela category against Argentina's "Contra las Cuerdas," Brazil's "Destiny River" and Portugal's "Lacos de Sangue."
The awarding ceremony will be held from November 18 to 21.
"We are very thrilled. The nomination is an honor and a validation of our team's efforts," Laurenti Dyogi, ABS-CBN business unit head, said in a statement. He is responsible for the TV series, which aired from May to August 2010.
He added that "Impostor" has been "picked up" in other countries such as Russia and Ghana.
Several European countries have also shown interest in buying the format rights of the series from ABS-CBN.
Just recently, "Impostor" won a silver medal for Best Print Art Direction in the Promax/BDA Awards in New York.
Other ABS-CBN programs that earned International Emmy nominations include "Dahil May Isang Ikaw," "Kahit Isang Saglit," "TV Patrol" and "Bandila."
