Azkals vs Sri Lanka Game 2 Result: Philippine Azkals Win 4-0

The Philippine Azkals made history by becoming the first Philippine team to advance to the second round of the FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

The Filipinos defeated Sri Lanka, 4-0, (5-1 on aggregate) much to the delight of thousands of local football fans who endured the rain just to witness the match at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.

Azkals winger Chieffy Caligdong scored the first goal in the 18th minute to put the Philippine ahead.

He found the back of the net with a strike that caromed off the left post.

Another goal by Azkals striker Phil Younghusband in the 42nd minute made it 2-0 in favor of the Philippines.

The Filipino-British footballer evaded 2 defenders and the Sri Lankan goalkeeper to increase the Azkals' lead.

An assistant match official initially ruled out Younghusband's goal because an alleged foul.

However, the senior referee overruled the sideline official, saying that the Azkal's contact with a Sri Lankan defender was only minimal.

It was Angel Guirado's turn to score in the second half.

The Filipino-Spaniard scored the country's third goal in the 50th minute after receiving a through ball from James Younghusband.

Guirado beat the Sri Lankans' offside trap and rounded the goalkeeper to tap the ball in.

Phil scored the fourth goal through a penalty kick in the 56th minute after Stephan Schrock was brought down by a Sri Lankan defender inside the box.

The Filipinos will take on Kuwait in the second round of the qualifiers.

Kuwait have scouted the Philippines for 2 consecutive matches, according to the Azkals media officer Rick Olivares.

JM De Guzman Launches his Own Album!

Newbie actor heartthrob JM De Guzman finally had his own album! And it is set to release this month of July 2011!

JM De Guzman who is now reprising the character of Gabriel Maglayon in the hit teleserye remake "Mula Sa Puso" is not only a good actor. But indeed, he is also a good singer and a good song writer! Wow!

Yup, the carrier singer of his self-titled album is called "Carried Away". And he is also the writer of this said song! 

“It’s a 12-track album, ten covers and two of which I personally wrote,” he shared. “People can expect to hear chill-type of songs here.” Nice!

JM cleared though that despite him pursuing the music industry, his first love is still and will always be acting.

JM's self-titled album is under Ivory record. The full version is not yet released. But a quick teaser of it is already spread. Here is the said song teaser of JM's carrier single. Let's all hear and watch it:

Amy Austria's Character Finally Appears in 'Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin!'

The long wait is over! Finally, the character of veteran actress Ms. Amy Austria-Ventura appears in the hit TV series "Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin!" 

Amy's character in the said soap as Lora/Rosa disappeared for more than one month. And everybody is wondering why she was missing on the said teleserye.

Actually Amy undergone surgical operation. And she spent 40 days in the hospital. So, her character in the TV series was for the meantime lost.

Now that Amy already recovered and get back in shape, she happily announced her exciting comeback on the TV series!

On the last night's episode of "Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin," Rosa was finally seen!

In the story, Rosa was being imprisoned for carrying illegal drugs. She was now being freed and she returns to her mom Elena (Boots Anson-Roa). She even tried to see their dad Gen. Sebastiano (Ronaldo Valdez) in the camp but surprised to see Javier (Coco Martin) now closer to her wicked half-sister Alondra (Lorna Tolentino).

Now that Lora/Rosa already returns in this hit TV series, expect more exciting episodes and new twists! What will be the great changes Lora's comeback bring in "Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin"?! Will she live together with Alondra, Javier, and Joaquin?! Can she unfolds the real mystery behind her real sons Javier and Alexander?!

Makisig Morales Happy for Siblings Joining Star Magic

Now that he is entering his junior year of high school, Makisig Morales is happy that two of his younger siblings have joined him in Star Magic. Eight-year-old brother Maliksi has already appeared various teleseryes like Mula sa Puso, Agua Bendita, Momay, and is currently seen in the action-drama series Guns and Roses. Five-year-old sister Marikit was seen on Kristine and in an episode of Maalala Mo Kaya.

“Siyempre masaya ako na nasa showbiz din yung mga kapatid ko kasi hindi lang ako yung nakikita ko sa industriya ng showbiz. Hindi ba first time lang nila tapos kunyari magkasama kami sa isang serye, eh ‘di may matatakbuhan silang kuya na parang yung mga experience ko puwede ko sabihin at i-share sa kanila parang ma-she-share ko rin yung mga nakuha kong talents, ganun,” he told Push.com.ph.

Although he is always watching over the two on set, Mak said that it is really their father who guides them on how to do well at work or in school. “Binibigyan ko sila ng advice pero madalas ang nag-a-advice talaga sa kanila si Daddy kasi si Daddy rin ang nagbibigay sa akin ng advice dati sa mga ginagawa ko. Pero matanong rin sila sa akin kaya pinagsasabihan ko rin sila kung ano yung tamang gagawin,” he added.

Mak also said that when he was the only actor in the family before, there was never any jealousy or sibling rivalry in their family. Now, he is even proud of his younger siblings and hopes that they will do well in showbiz. “Siyempre sobrang proud ako kasi dati si Maliksi parang sobrang kulit lang na bata na sumasama-sama lang sa amin tapos hindi naman rin niya ini-expect ‘di ba? Parang bigla na lang ganun, artista na rin siya,” he admitted.

When it comes to showbiz mentors, Mak said one of the persons he looks up to the most is The Biggest Loser Pinoy Edition host Sharon Cuneta. “Siya yung nagturo sa akin na ang pinaka-importante talaga sa showbiz is huwag mo kakalimutan ang iyong fans. Ang nagturo sa akin niyan ay si Miss Sharon Cuneta. Pagka-iniisip ko na ganyan, na ‘pag hindi ko nakalimutan yung fans, na patuloy akong susuportahan. Kaya ayun ang sinasabi ko kay Maliksi, pagka may pagkakataon na mayroong gustong magpa-picture, pagbigyan niya at matuwa dapat siya na masaya sila para magpa-picture sila. Siyempre dapat masaya ka rin kasi nakapag-pasaya ka din ng ibang tao,” he explained.

Mak was also excited to welcome the newest addition to their family as his mom is currently pregnant. “Okay lang naman na ako na kuya. Sinabi ko nga kay mama eh, ‘pag boy yung anak niya, ako yung mag-aalaga. Eh boy nga so ako mag-aalaga!” he excitedly shared.

Currently gearing up for his latest project, Okatokat, Mak said his acting skills will be challenged with a role that is very different from the usual characters that he gets to portray. “Ang story dun, mga bata lang kami na parang pupunta kami sa mga iba’t ibang adventures. Medyo may kaibahan nga yung role ko dito kasi ang mga role ko dati mga siga, parang mga maton, medyo rough. Ngayon parang medyo nerdy-nerdy ako sa Okatokat so parang yung kilos ko laging straight body and may mga lines ako dun na mag-e-English ako. kaya kailangan memorize ko talaga yung script. Nasa amin na yung script kaya nakita ko narin. Okay naman sa akin,” he admitted.

Hindi lang pala mahusay sa pag-arte ang pinakabagong dramatic actor ng industriya na si JM De Guzman, mahusay din pala ito kumanta at sumulat ng kanta.

Nalalapit na ngang ilunsad ni JM ang kanyang self-titled album under Ivory Records sa darating na buwan.

“It’s a 12-track album, ten covers and two of which e sinulat ko,” sabi niya. “Masasabi kong inalam ko naman lugar ko dito. Hindi ko naman pinilit yung hindi kayang makuha ng album. May certain level kumbaga. More on chill type of music maririnig nila.”

Sa kabila ng kanyang pagsabak ng binata sa industriya ng musika, nilinaw ni JM na first love niya pa din ang pag-arte, mapa-telebisyon man o sa teatro.

Ngayon pa lang ay umaani na ng papuri si JM sa kanyang husay sa pag-arte bilang Gabriel sa 2011 remake ng primera klaseng seryeng “Mula sa Puso.”

Isa ang batikan at tinaguriang Box Office Director na si Wenn Deramas sa napahanga ng binata.

“Given more challenging roles, isa si JM sa magiging importanteng actor ng panahong ito,” sabi ni Direk Wenn.

Maging ang ka-loveteam niya na si Lauren Young, na gumaganap naman bilang Via, ay todo papuri rin sa kanya.

“Magaling talaga siyang aktor. Professional siya at versatile. Kaya niyang magpapalit-palit ng emosyon sa maikling panahon na mahirap talaga gawin. Binibigyan niya talaga ng hustisya ang role niya,” sabi ni Lauren.

Sa kabila nito, nanatili namang mapagkumbaba si JM. Lubos din ang pasasalamat niya sa lahat ng nakaka-appreciate sa kanyang pag-arte.

“Sarap naman pakinggan ng mga papuring iyan pero siyempre I remain focused pa rin. Every taping, pahirap ng pahirap so I see to it na prepared ako. Talagang sinasabuhay ko si Gabriel,” paglalahad ni JM.


Nang tanungin kung ito ang nakikita niyang landas na tatahakin niya sa showbiz, sabi ni JM “Oo naman. When I entered showbiz, alam ko na yung posisyon ko at goal ko bilang isang aktor. Andun yung focus ko sa craft ko. Focused ako sa dapat gawin ng character ko. Yung kasikatan bilang artista e palimuti lang yun. Ang importante e alam mo kung paano mo ma-touch ang buhay ng mga manonood sa’yo.”

Sa edad na anim pa lang ay nagsimula na si JM umarte ng siya ay maging bahagi ng gag show na "Ang TV." Tumigil siya para ituon ang oras sa pag-aaral at ng tumuntong siya ng kolehiyo ay kinuha niya ang kursong Theater Arts sa University of the Philippines-Diliman.

Bumalik siya sa telebisyon sa seryeng ” Precious Hearts Romances (PHR) presents Midnight Phantom” na agad sinundan ng “PHR presents Alyna,” “ Martha Cecilia’s Kristine,” at ngayon, “Mula sa Puso.”

Mapapanood din si JM sa ”Ang Babae sa Septic Tank” katambal si Eugene Domingo sa pagbubukas ng 2011 Cinemalaya competition sa Hulyo.

Patuloy na panoorin si JM bilang Gabriel sa ”Mula sa Puso,” Lunes hanggang Biyernes, pagkatapos ng ”Marry Me Mary” sa Primetime Bida ng ABS-CBN.
