Cebuana Lhuillier Follows Procter & Gamble Philippines and Jollibee To Temporarily Suspends Sponsorship on Willing Willie

A week after Jollibee Food Corporation suspends Mang Inasal's ad placement onWilling Willie, and one day after Procter & Gamble Philippines decided to to do the same, Cebuana Lhuillier follows suit.

These actions from advertisers came after the controversial March 12 episode of Willing Willie where six-year-old Jan-Jan Suan were shown doing the "macho-dance routine" in exchange of P10,000.

In the official statement posted on their Facebook Fan Page, Cebuana Lhuillier said they temporarily suspend its "Watch and Win" segment sponsorship starting Monday, April 11, "while resolution on the matter is pending."

Here is the full statement of Cebuana Lhuillier:

In regard to the issue of the alleged child abuse that happened in TV5's Willing Willie show, the Cebuana Lhuillier Management has decided to temporarily suspend its segment sponsorship in the said show, effective April 11, 2011, while resolution on the matter is pending.

While we support programs that give hope to Filipinos here and abroad, we expect our business partners to promote good values, protect children's rights and exercise prudence in communicating to the general public.

We have taken note of the TV5 Management's official statement and the corrective measures they have taken. We trust that they will ensure that a similar incident will not happen again. We hope that the concerned authorities will resolve this matter soon.

Cebuana Lhuillier Management."

However, on the show's March 29 episode, Willie Revillame threatens those who plans to pull-out its ad placement on the show to suffer from their decision.

Willie said, "Alam n'yo ho, pag binoycott kami ng advertisers, yung mga nagmamahal naman sa amin, hindi nila bibilhin ang produktong 'yan."
